Nice walk around the grounds in the day. The gardens are a great place to escape to with a variety of different walks for all abilities. The Christmas market was nice however slightly disappointed with the range of stalls and that not all the outlets were open. The food selection was good. Excellent Covid controls in place, felt very safe.

Belvoir Castle is the fourth such structure to have stood on the hill-top site since Norman Times. The existing Castle was completed in the early 19th century (within a vast estate of almost 30,000 acres) after previous buildings suffered complete or partial destruction during the Wars of the Roses, the Civil War & a major fire in 1816 . Belvoir (meaning beautiful view en Francais) dates back to Norman Times. The English pronunciation ‘Beaver’ came about over many centuries due to the inability of Anglo-Saxons to master the French tongue.

First visit but what a fantastic place. Adapted well to restrictions. The best Santa I have ever witnessed and the free drinks and snacks were tremendous. Well done to all

Great afternoon at Belvoir Castle. The gardens looked really pretty with the Christmas lights and inside was beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations. My son got to see santa in his grotto, which was lovely with lights and decorations. Being able to have hot chocolate and cake sat outside amongst pine trees and a fire was lovely. Some nice things at the Christmas Market in the Engine yard too.

Absolutely brilliant place loved going round the castle and gardens. Found the mausoleum on the map they provided but sadly no access to it apart from that would highly recommend
