The starters were delicious. The mushroom starter was less creamy than I'd expected, but that was good, because it was light like a starter should be. The scallops with chorizo were delicious too! The mains were delicious too. The ribye steak with chips was very nice, cooked medium-well, big portion, it was great with stilton sauce. The salmon was delicious too, cooked very well! It came with rice or chips, I chose rice. For dessert we had tiramisu and lemon pie (\Nonna\), delicious! Especially the lemon pie, it felt homemade! Would have preferred more relaxing music to go along with the relaxing ambience of the restaurant, but was cost-effective for great quality food, definitely worth visiting. Would recommend

I would never buy pizza anywhere other than Bistro Italiano in Durham. I would never buy Italian anywhere other than Bistro Italiano in Durham. The pizza is perfect and made the Italian way, pastas are chef's kiss, and the desserts are great - plus you can tell everything is fresh made, and arrives warm (takeaway). I don't know what else to say except if you're in Durham, buy from Bistro Italiano and you'll feel like you're in Italy (and I've lived in Rome).

We were staying in Durham and came across this small family run Italians and I must say The Food was amazing. We had a few starters and mains and all of it was freshly made and tasted great. Would definitely recommend and if I'm in Durham again will definitely be going again.

Worth a bit of a walk from the centre for really good Italian food and drink. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere,and prices very reasonable in this expensive city. We both had the steak risotto which was superb, and there's a really good sweet menu. What's not to like!
