Excellent restaurant located in the centre of Edinburgh. We were looking for a quite restaurant to have breakfast but everywhere we tried was fully booked and we didn't think to make a reservation in advance but by chance we stumbled upon Cau which looks lovely inside and out. We decided to try Cau as it wasn't full of people. The menu was surprisingly very reasonably priced and everything on the menu sounded great. I decided to go for the ultimate steak sandwich, it was the best decision I could have made as this was the best steak sandwich I have ever tried the steak was cooked perfectly and so tender. The sweet potato fries were also perfect and everything tasted fantastic. The servers were also her pleasant. 10/10 would definitely go again.

Superb tasting steaks and friendly, attentive staff. Good choice of red wines. Kids menu goes down well with our mini-me’s. Reasonably priced too. Recommended.
Lunch menu is for 3 course, and 12.95. It is cheap and delicious. I ordered coriander chicken coxinha for starter, steak for main course and package for dessert. I love it!!!! Rump steak is also amazing.
So many options to choose from , excellent service, very nice and friendly staff and the place is right in the heart of Prince Street!! I would tottaly recommended it!!!

This is by far the best meal I've had in ages. I had the Strawberry Pavlova drink which was like magical strawberries and cream. I savored every last bite of Rump steak and if you don't get it with the chimichurri butter you're missing out. Top 3 steaks I've had anywhere, hands down. Unfortunately I forgot to photo my steak, I was too busy eating. I can't recommend it enough. Dessert was the apple pie cheesecake. 11/10 experience.
Not cheap, either expensive. The servers was informative and explained the menu to us. And the steak was really good. .
A great place to try some different cuts of steak and cooked differently from the usual offerings in other steak restaurants. Good selection of malbec and beer
