Breathtaking scenery from here and the views are second to none! It’s a great spot for a social weekend walk or even for a run! I love the vast green open space in Clifton downs where you can do plenty of outdoor activities. There’s also an area where you can hike up the hill from the portway. It is now my favourite place for a walk after work or at weekends when I need to de-stress. Would strongly recommend to others!

Very nice area of Bristol, lovely views and we did see the Falcons flying, dont know if this was an unusual event, but we certainly seen them. You can also view the goats that have been introduced to the gully in the gorge. There is loads of free parking here, and walks a plenty. Big open downs for a picnic or ball games, kite flying etc. There is a ice cream van here and free public toilets available.

Not sure what I was expecting but all that was there was a sign. I'm short only 5 ft tall and I found it difficult to get good views over the hedge. The nest this year (2019) was on far side of gorge and at a difficult angle to get good view. I understand u can't cut hedge during the breeding season, but maybe a small platform away from edge to set a tripod on. U definitely need a telescope for good views. Binoculars are fine but to see in the nest u need the extra distance. Think I saw 3 baby's but hedge was in way. One bloke had crossed the fence and was watching from edge of cliff. But as I'm scared of heights I was not following. Maybe if hedge is hacked back severely in the winter it might not grow so high. But as it's a cliff edge I guess they can't for safety sake. Path along hedge is very rough with rocks jutting out of the surface. Making walking along it a bit difficult. And very slippery when damp.
