I have been learning Spanish with Fernando since the summer. I was a complete beginner and wanted to be able to speak with confidence when travelling to Spanish speaking countries. Fernando has ensured from day one that I get plenty of practice in Spanish conversation as well as learning the necessary grammar. He is very patient while making the lesson interesting and fun. I really look forward to my weekly lessons and cannot recommend him more highly.

I started to learn Spanish on my own, using online resources. Well...to be more accurate, I 'tried' to learn on my own. I wasn't very successful! I found Fernando online and I can honestly say, he's transformed my learning. I don't think I've ever learnt as much (on any subject) in an hour's lesson as I do with Fernando. He has a way of putting across even the most difficult aspects of language learning in a clear way, using illustrations that help you to understand and to remember. I always end a lesson feeling like I've learnt a huge amount, but more importantly, he motivates me to continue learning...which in my experience is probably one of the key things when you're learning a language. We all need to know about grammar (unfortunately!) but Fernando knows that the most important thing is to have the confidence to speak and to be able to understand when people speak to you. In short, he's a brilliant teacher and a really nice person whom it's been a pleasure to get to know through my lessons.
I have been learning Spanish for some time but only recently with Fernando. He is an excellent teacher who explains everything in a clear friendly style. In the past I worried about my pronunciation but Fernando has made learning Spanish enjoyable for the first time.
We needed a Spanish tutor for our daughter in year 11 for GCSE to support her school teaching. Fernando gave her the understanding of the language rather than just learning the translation which resulted in her improving noticeably in written and especially oral pieces to give a high GCSE grade. Her sessions were at weekends in our home (before Covid struck) and conducted almost entirely in Spanish and were fitted around our other commitments. I would strongly recommend Fernando for anyone taking GCSE Spanish
I have had Spanish lessons with Fernando over the past five years whilst studying Spanish GCSE at school. The lessons with Fernando are always fun, he makes the lessons interesting and relevant to me as well as supporting the GCSE course work. I found it really easy to chat in Spanish with Fernando, he would always encourage me and helped build my confidence in speaking the language. He explained how to use the grammar and verb structures clearly and simply with lots of examples and useful techniques for remembering. I was successful in obtaining a grade 9 in my GCSE Spanish and the support Fernando has given me over years has certainly helped me achieve this grade.
