Absolute hidden Gem. We found it online, mistaking it for somewhere to go for a walk. Its a world renowned diving centre. The police diving team for the county where training there. But what we found was a waterfront view from heaven, with a wonderful pub, restaurant. The staff where warm, friendly and welcoming. The food was lovely, the beer was exceptional. Can not wait to return again. Made a random. Day, into a wonderful day.

Great place for open water swim. Water is very clean and it's a lovely scenic swim. It's large enough to get a descent long swim. You need to pre-book a place to ensure safe distancing swims etc. Swim cost 5 per person and you need to swim in group's of 2 and you need to have a float but can rent one for 3 from the kiosk. Lots of scuba diving and there is a pub to get some food and a drink after if required.

This used to be a great place to dive. I passed my PADI instructors course here many years ago, and have some great memories of the place. Its still probably the best inland dive venue in the country, but since the Corona Virus crisis they have made it such a hassle to visit im not going to bother going any more. Its now very expensive to go, as they force you to become a member of the place if you want to visit. In the name of safety? I dont believe it. Its long winded to join, and when i finally resigned myself to paying their fees as i wanted to take my daughters last week i couldnt because their was no admin staff to process it for several days. There are other ways of keeping people safe during this terrible crisis. We went to Wraysbury dive center instead. Not as great a venue, but so much easier to visit with no attempt to fleece me for all i've got! The staff their were much friendlier too. Over the years some of the staff at Stoney cove seem to have deblveloped a terribly unwelcoming attitude to casual visitors. We cant all visit every week! I doubt if i will ever go to Stoney again, which is a shame because it was one of the reasons i developed my love for Scuba diving in the first place. .
