I would just like to share my review today of Smyths store in Aberdeen. My little girl left her beloved black lab toy there when buying a new bike. So I called the store and got a very helpful guy called Stephen which i think was manager there. He asked the staff and within 5 minutes he had called me back to say they had found it .when my hubby went back to pick it up they gave my daughter some free Lego pieces which was very kind as she was so upset to the thought of losing her wee toy doggie. You have saved me from a very sleepless night. So I thank you for that.

Christmas shopping at Smyths, Pros: I found the store to be well set out and things were easy to find. The aisles were wide enough to fit two shopping trolleys side by side. The store also had public toilets. The staff were helpful and were looking to help me whenever I seen on in an aisle. The checkouts were well manned which was nice and cut down on the wait to pay for my goods. Cons: The shopping trolleys for the store were all outside with none in the store which made finding them hard if you missed seeing them on the way into the store. You also need a 1 to use the trolleys which you get back after you return the shopping trolley. Top tip: Check online for money off vouchers before you visit the store.

Wide variety of toys for all ages but I was a bit surprised at the cost of some of them. For items that kids are supposed to play with and likely give a lot of wear and tear to, they seemed to be very overpriced. That aside, the access was good, staff friendly and helpful, and did their best to make the experience comparitively smooth.

Lots of selection and decent prices. Just don't take the kids with you or it could be expensive

Horrendous customer service relating to pre ordering games as was told previously by management that if I could get into store within the 48hr preorder period to collect the game and get the 5 preorder discount that I could phone and advise and they could take payment and I could collect when it was possible to get into the store to be told today they cannot do this so there fore I would loose my deposit and my 5 and would have to pay full retail price. Absolute joke for such a large retailer I thought finally a store that had a insentive to preorder but clearly not
