Unfortunately closed just now but a really interesting place for a visit. Even the grounds have been so well done and merges into the hillside. Well worth a visit.

I had hoped I'd get a chance to go to The Macallan in my lifetime. Thankfully, I was successful!

Fantastic experience to get acquainted with the Macallan distillery. Compared to other distillery tours in Scotland this is something completely different. The scale at which Macallan operates is just so big. Therefore the approach to creating whiskey in their brand new distillery is almost clinical. That said, the tour was not clinical at all. Our guide was very enthusiastic and explained everything very well. Very nice were the different interactive elements of the tour. I will not reveal them in this review, but believe me they are nice! Finally the tasting is well worth the visit. Especjallt tasting the new spirit is something that other distillerys so far did not offer us. All in all a well deserved five star rating!
Wow....like...wow..... You definitely see why the bottles are so expensive and they really pour the money back into this place. Walls of 100 year old bottles with a full automated camera system to view them and get information...beautiful tasting room. We skipped the 5800, 25ml sample of 72 year old Scotch, but fun to see the bottle sitting on the shelf out of reach...
