John and son Tom Downes, run a 1st rate Veterinary Practice. John gives no-nonsense, no fuss, advice and treatment. His decades of experience are spot on. The culture in this practice is an 'old school' and down to earth approach, which is very reassuring and 100% reliable. I get peace of mind, for a very reasonable price.

They take great care after all the animals the female vet is amazing with my dog and when she had an operation the stitching was neat and healed fast. I now have a happy doggy again

A brilliant vet and practice, over the last 20 odd years I've lost count of how many times I've felt that 'thank you' was not good enough. They are down to earth and use common sense and will always go the extra mile to save an animal at any time of the day or night. The last time I needed them, they investigated then operated on my JRT puppy who was in so much pain, she walked using only her front legs, they gave her two new cartilage hips and she now has a life like any other dog. Any other vet might not even have tried as they were removing shards of bone from one hip and the second was pretty much dust, the vets here are amazing. Can't recommend them enough.
