We sought out this shop after reading the reviews, but sadly didn't have the same experience as others. The shop itself is well stocked and we bought a lot of provisions, but the staff were really not friendly and were quite unwelcoming. I can only say that I assume it's down to COVID-19, but even so they shouted as we entered telling us to wait outside and that we had to sanitise our hands. There is a tannoy that tells you to wait until your called and signs everywhere that say only 4 people allowed in the shop, but as you can't see how many people are in from outside and can't see whether the staff even know you're there to call you in, the system doesn't really work. Then when we were inside the staff glared at us while we were shopping and made us feel so uncomfortable and I felt quite upset after we left. I know there are testing times but we haven't had this response anywhere else locally.

Excellent store...I'd say little but it feels bigger every time I'm in! Great place to get provisions for a west coast beach holiday. Lovely owners too
A gem of a place.... With lovely staff and a great selection of produce . Oh and I mustn't forget to mention gin!! If you enjoy a tipple then you must visit this shop! It's got a wonderful selection of gin.. Whisky . . Vodka etc.
Just have to say,used this store when on holiday for the last 19years,staff are the most friendly that you are ever likely to meet anywhere in Scotland , always met with a warm welcome,prices are comparable with any local convince store despite the remote location, and that is the reason I hope to use this place for the next 19years.many thanks fae the Cumnock boys,well maybe the Cumnock men, well maybe the Cumnock auld boy's,you lassies are a credit to the service you provide
