Lovely restored and working railway station with a small museum, cafe and shop on the platform, including visitor information. Plenty of picnic tables/chairs (to enjoy a bag of chips from the chip shop up the hill ). Beautiful short walk along the river

Beautiful trip to the Railway over the weekend. A trip on the lovely Green Dragon steam engine, beautiful views and lovely stations. The price is very reasonable and the children had a great day. Highly recommend this little adventure

Really enjoyable train ride. The place isn't completely finished but the train ride is fully operational. It's a nice old steam train using tracks from an old mine. The train goes through very scenic countryside and is a very relaxing way to spend an hour or so.

The train ride was a great run, it was around 27 for a family return ticket from Alston to Slaggyford. There is a cafe at the station but it's extortionate- 13 for 2 pieces of frittata that wasn't all that great. But its all run by volunteers.
