Amanda has been teaching me piano for 2 years now and I think I've improved my understanding of music and my ability to play more passionately. This is because of her method, which focuses on the parts you struggle on to make every piece sound so much better! She is very patient, and doesn't hesitate to correct you, but is great at teaching, especially new techniques. She is dedicated to her students as recently, she even went back over piano theory for my upcoming exam. Overall, I definitely recommend Amanda for your new teacher :)

Both my children have lessons with Amanda Oakley and have for a few years. I have found Amanda to be professional, supportive and excellent at preparing my girls for their grades. Lessons have been taken in her home and continued during the pandemic on whats app. She is very encouraging with my girls during the lessons and gives specific advice on how to play each piece. I would highly recommend Amanda as a piano teacher.
My son started learning to play the piano with Amanda Oakley when he was about 6 years old... and he still enjoys her lessons now... about 7 years on! The resources that she recommends for both practical and theoretical learning are fun and her patient, kind and gentle approach allows her pupils of all ages to learn at their own pace as she helps them to grow in confidence. Amanda shows a genuine interest in her pupils and their progress, whether they are preparing for an examination or playing for fun! During lockdowns lessons have continued over WhatsApp and this has been a very successful substitute for face to face lessons in her home. We would thoroughly recommend Amanda!
