I would highly recommend Anchor to my friends and family, and anyone that is thinking of fostering. The process is smooth and you are greeted with a friendly voice the moment you make contact. The recruitment process is smooth and you are supported throughout the process by a designated recruitment officer. Once you are approved you can look forward to being supported by the caring Social work team. Anchor goes the extra mile, during lockdown they sent every foster carer and staff member a luxury hamper and hired an ice-cream van to go to all the families and treat them to ice-cream. That's not all every year our carers enjoy a pamper day, birthday gifts and cream teas. They are very supportive and have a 24 hour support so you are never alone. If you are thinking about fostering please do not hesitate to get in touch with this not for profit well established long running fostering agency. Good Luck!! You wont look back!!

My Husband and I honestly cannot praise/recommend Anchor enough. They are simply wonderful. We were existing Foster Carers and we wished to transfer to another. We really did our homework when considering who to transfer to and we thoroughly interrogated Anchor prior to deciding to join them; we wanted to know about the support provided to the Carers, support provided to the children and young people, how they ensure that Fostering families feel considered and cared for as a Fostering community etc. We were so impressed; they hold local events for Fostering families to be a part of, they provide additional support freely and they arrange for the children and young people to attend a fun break away each year. They are very sensitive to the needs of the children/young people and the Carers and will respond readily and accordingly. Due to a change in our personal circumstance, we decided to stop fostering and therefore did not complete the transfer to Anchor. However even at this point (bearing in mind they had invested lots of money into our assessment, attending 'transfer' meetings with us and our current agency, and by allowing us to participate in training sessions), we were still spoken to and treated with understanding and empathy. The fact is, even though we had caused them inconvenience, they were still so lovely to us. All of the staff we came across were kind, friendly and well-informed; they really have excellent values within the Company. Should we consider fostering again, there will be no doubt that we will be heading straight to Anchor. Thank you so much Anchor, for making our experience with you lovely. I could honestly say so much more.
The transfer process was really easy. It's been absolutely brilliant. We have lots of support. We were already fostering and we decided to transfer as we weren't getting many referrals. Within two days of transferring we had our sibling group. We are really happy and pleased that we transferred because Anchor has met all our expectations and more.
We were transferring from another agency. We came across Anchor and they seemed a lot more supportive and not-for-profit which we liked the idea of, as the money goes back to the children. Transferring was brilliant and, it was done very quickly. We had a time scale of 3 months, which they met. They kept us well informed at all stages of the process. Anchor absolutely deliver on their promises and we have never looked back to be honest. Anchor are so good, we’ve had all the support and then some.
Safety, Stability and Hope - Anchor's ethos which is embedded in all they do. Anchor is one of a small minority of IFA's that are family run and not for profit; this is quite rare these days. I work there and would have no hesitation recommending Anchor Foster Care Services if you are thinking of becoming a foster carer or thinking of transferring.
