Have made two unfortunate experiences with staff in Argos (Sainsbury's Keighley); One the first occasion, my wife bought a bluetooth speaker to use for travel - staff stated they gave it to another customer prior to her arrival ???? no apology or explanation. Second time, whilst standing in the shop, I accessed their website and selected a product. The system indicated this was available for immediate collection so I processed payment etc. However, the confirmation email stated it was only available for collection the following day.. I approached the counter and explained my query - The incredible and dismissive explanation I was given amounted to "Someone else must have bought it at the same same and paid just before you" - I pointed out this was very highly unlikely, especially when given the nature of the product but the staff member merely chose to stick to this 'Pravda-esque' stance stating "It has happened". I demonstrated the offer availability on a similar product shown as immediately available on their website which was met with indifference. Rather than demonstrating any level of regret for my inconvenience and offer to check the system or resolve my issue - problem solving skills clearly underdeveloped - the staff member maintained her dismissive, couldn't care less tone. I was tempted to visit the following day to collect my purchase and seek out the same member of staff and tell her I'd spoken to everyone in the world and they all denied buying this product but I let my wife make the collection, preferring instead to adopt the aforementioned 'couldn't care less' approach ! I wouldn't have bothered writing this essay if it wasn't for the fact that a rather negative theme seems to be developing with the staff in this store; previous review noted too.

Very helpful & friendly staff. In days of rude & uninterested sales assistants it comes as a breath of fresh air to visit this store. Not only are the staff friendly & welcoming but are both polite & efficient. I had expected to collect an order at the Keighley store in Sainsburys but it was incorrectly labled. It was delivered to the Sainsburys store by mistake. The Argos staff located it & called me to arrange collection within 30 minutes of my contacting them. I think many sales staff could learn a great deal about customer service by visiting this store, the manager & his staff are a credit to Argos.
