The Courtyard Cafe is my favourite place in the area for an excellent breakfast (from the hearty breakfast to the bacon and egg sandwich)! The hot chocolates are delicious too! The staff is really friendly, dynamic and helpful. It is a great place to catch up with your family and friends, it has a lovely atmosphere that will make you feel welcome and relaxed. Their lunch options are also really tasty and there are options for everybody. I will definitely keep going to the Courtyard!

Scones were really large and delicious, with ample cream and jam. A nice little cafe in a courtyard off the main street. You need to book in advance for afternoon tea which looked scrumptious. There is a large array of home made cakes to choose from i only just resisted the temptation to sample more! Highly recommended.

Wanted a simple lunch between visits to Bluebell Arboretum and Calke Abbey and parked just a step from this cafe. I had steak sandwich and onions on baguette, my wife a toasted sandwich. Both really well done, home made slaw on the side, fresh salad, and the sandwiches freshly made with good ingredients. I should mention especially the bread. In Britain a baguette can often disappoint - outside not crisp, inside too doughy. Mine was excellent on both counts, and the steak too was good. Friendly and efficient service too. Great place - would recommend to a friend, and go back if in Ashby again

Lovely place. In a quiet yard just off the main street. Great staff. Good food but fairly expensive. Will cost you more than nearby Wetherspoons but food quality far far higher. I had a brunch breakfast which was fantastic.

From homemade soups and sandwiches to cakes and cream teas this establishment really rocks.
