I love this shop, truly I do. I think it's wonderful that such a shop exists in Ashtead. It is a small but necessary first step towards sustainable living. However, when I have gone in, the shopkeeper has not been wearing a mask, and today they were walking around the tiny shop floor in very close proximity to the customers. I tried at first to back away but there simply isn't enough room to maintain social distancing. In order to protect myself and those around me who are at risk, I left the shop without getting the item I wanted. I understand some may be exempt from wearing masks, that is of course fine. But there was a girl behind the counter of plexiglass who was wearing a mask, so it was not necessary for the lady who wasn't wearing a mask to be doing the shop floor tasks so close to customers. I just think this was a blatant disregard towards the safeguarding of their customers, especially since we are now in tier 4 and things are again taking a turn for the worse. I am young and healthy, yet still felt uncomfortable in such close indoor proximity to someone who is in contact with the general public every day. I can't imagine many at-risk customers choosing to stay in this situation either. This experience has very much soured my perception of the shop. I hope the shop owners reconsider the choices they are making in light of the pandemic and start taking their responsibility towards the community a little more seriously.

I am thoroughly disappointed with this shop after my most recent (and last!) visit this Sunday. Not only did the shop look to not have what I specifically came in to purchase, but the disrespectful staff was the final straw. There were three staff members (one looks to be a manager) and a dog behind the limited area behind the till: two eating, drinking and talking closely whilst the other was wearing a mask. How bizarre that only one member of staff would follow the government guidelines whilst the other two were happy to spread the virus in plain sight in an area where food and drink is made for the general public! Disgraceful! I was made very uncomfortable by the fact that I have been mandated to wear a facial covering for my own safety, but two of your staff members were without and were happy to flaunt this and put others at risk in such a small area by eating and drinking. I can accept that staff do need a break, however can this be done elsewhere? And certainly not in an area in which food is served for the general public? I will not return until at least the pandemic has eased as this has not been the first time that I have seen the same two people behind the till disregarding the rules. Shame.

Eco friendly whole foods and Toiletries, huge range of refills for cleaning, foods (Including freezer items like fruit & veg, pizza dough, pastries or spinach or lentil burgers etc) and toiletries. Treasure trove of wholesome living! There are lots of vegan products and as a flexitarian married to a South African this place is nirvana. Someone I know said she feels more connected when she does her refills... slow conscious shopping. That’s what I’d like to be a part of in my local community. Friendly helpful service, good advice from personal experience and eco friendly product sourcing I can trust. Where else can I find a konjac sponge, Marseille soap, loose brown rice and local diary Gray’s Gelato refill ice cream?!

One of my favourite places! Always stocked full of all dried food staples (pulses, grains, cereals etc) plus fresh produce with looooads of vegan and ethical goodies, free-from foods and some locally-produced options too. Not just food, household products too, such as soaps, cleaning products, sanitary items, kitchen bits like silicone bowl-covers and ecofriendly sponges and washing up brushes. A brilliant and much-needed provision for any eco-conscious shoppers out there. We need more shops like this! This place makes zero-waste shopping so easy! Just take your own pot, weigh it, fill it and scan it and when you're all filled up, take it to the till to pay. The staff are always really friendly and helpful and the coffee is great too
