Friendly & polite staff. Nice food & quickly served. The Stag is continuing to deliver it's excellent service in the difficult times.
Have been to the Stag on numerous occasions. But booked a table last night for a special meal with my husband and another couple. Three of us had the carvery and one had a burger. He said he would mark it 5 out of 10. Not impressed. But the carvery was even more disappointing. It was not very hot, the roast potatoes were like leather. We ate at 18.00 and were the first table served. So the food should have been hot and the potatoes crisp. I realize in these times it is not possible to choose from the hot dishes and we have to remain seated but the food was just haphazardly piled on the plates my friend and myself would not have chosen such large amounts of vegetables. My husband also had extra protein on his plate in the shape of a fly! All in all not the dining experience we had been looking forward to. But I must add that the young man who waited on our table was very pleasant, and helpful. He was able to get us a slightly reduced bill, but I would have preferred a delicious meal which we have had at the Stag in the past. Yours sincerely Mrs B Smith.
My wife and I had our first meal out since the virus outbreak. The standard of the meal is just first class as Airways. And the staff are so friendly and helpful. And not the least bit expensive
Had to pre book food for a table of 10 for Saturday afternoon. Couldn't them change any food orders however, staff were really good at swapping a salad for cauliflower cheese (as it looked amazing and was told it tasted it too!). Food was nice, service good.
