This is a really nice bar, let me say that first, it's lovely inside and good music. The decor is great and really comfortable. My issue is it advertises itself as a live music bar, which yes it gets lots of acts on but when there's no acts on you are still paying well over the odds for a privilege you aren't having. The real selection is nothing short of boring and very 1990's with The unchanging Thwaites Wainwright and equally unimaginative Tim Taylor's Landord being on. The keg selection is a lot better with Stratfords Crate brewery being used, but at an absolutely eye watering standard 4.60 a pint (despite strength difference) this isn't offering anything to the cask drinker disappointed by the poor selection, we asked the lad at the bar about the choice he didn't seem very clued up at all, also didn't know how to correctly use wine measures (over the wine glass) so my girlfriend was left short twice as he wouldn't pour it to the top outside of the glass as he then had to manoeuvre it into the glass. May seem a small point but when you are paying top dollar you definitely want your 's worth. Overall view, like the bar, liked the cider I had too, but it is far too expensive for Wigan. You can pay a hell of a lot less in equally good bars such as Wigan Central, and Hop House (John Bull) for a better selection of beers and still have good music. Whilst I appreciate a bar that is aimed to a more upmarket crowd the price difference doesn't reflect it's addition to the Wigan drinking scene at all. People won't come here at these prices after the novelty has worn off.

Great rather peaky blinders steampunk vibe. The guy behind the bar is really friendly. I understand they have live music too. Well worth a visit .
Good bar, good music, "okay" beer. To get the 5 stars much better beer is needed.
Great atmosphere, lovely staff, great selection of everything. Real credit to them. It's just a fab place.
Marvelous. Live music at certain times. Relaxed atmosphere, wifi. Great coffee.
Great local venue, live acts and friendly atmosphere.
Always a good evening to be had at Bailiff bar. I visit the Old Courts alot for gigs, drinks at Bailiff, exhibitions upstairs, lunch in the Coven or to visit Static Records. All absolutely awesome. Great cocktails in the courts and friendly, knowledgeable staff. A warm welcome and good atmosphere.
Trying hard to be cool . We get it ! Nice atmosphere & pretty standard . No complaints . One of the better watering holes in Wigan . Out of the way and good clients just feels like they want to be something else & it’s Wigan so they can’t be . Nice try though .
