I visited the picturesque medieval town of Bakewell back in Oct 2019. I was fascinated by the history of this beautiful hilly town and did some research on the internet before coming in. Being an ardent food lover, the Bakewell Tart shop was on top of my to-do list. The ambience was really great, and I was not surprised to find the cafe extremely busy and crowded with tourists. Tried the package meal of tart, pudding, butter, and bread (I think it was around 35 GBP). The pudding was good, although to be honest didn't like the icing on the tart that much, as coming from Bangladesh, my taste buds are more fond of spice than sweet. But I'm sure it's very popular with the locals. Overall, I had great memories of this place and the town of Bakewell, which is really very beautiful. If you're in the Peak District area on a vacation, don't forget to pay a visit to this wonderful place.

Amazing cafe, with awesome food, especially the Bakewell Pudding with Custard. To die for. This is our go to place when we come to Bakewell. Fantastic staff too. After you've eaten in the cafe, don't forget to buy a Bakewell Pudding to take home with you. Would recommend a million percent if I could. Xxx

Disappointing, tasteless, and not made in Bakewell! Visited Bakewell a few times and this time visited with my parents. We spent about 35 in here buying tarts to take home for family. Tried one when we got home and it’s not cooked in the middle. Upon checking the label once realising how poorly baked they are, you can see these are full of E numbers and manufactured in Danesmoor - will not be buying from here again!

After hearing so much about Bakewell Tarts after trying the Bakewell Tart Gin I had to try it and OMG I feel shorted of 27 years of not having one. By far one of the best deserts out there and having visited around lunch I tried their Peak Pasty which was DELICIOUS. I'm typically not one for gravy but wow, fresh and flavorful and even had pieces of onion still in it. Not sure if this is the first place the Bakewell Tarts were baked but they are damn good if not. ** also I preferred the iced tarts over the traditional one

Wonderful bacon sandwich for breakfast. Very friendly lady served us in the quiet back courtyard eating area. Felt really covid safe. It was also very reassuring to see that all seating and tables were thoroughly cleaned between customers. Well done.
