What a wonderful place. Locals are very helpful and friendly. Free parking at the Highland Games Stadium. Recommend the Butchers for top notch Hagis. Nice walk up to one of the hills. Just past the fire station.

Great atmosphere. Fun family event. There were a lot of stalls for food and drinks. Easy to park with a lot of volunteers helping with traffic control. The village is so pretty and friendly. The highlight of the event is you get to see the Queen up close.
Absolutely fantastic Highland Games in Braemar where the Queen & Prince Charles put in an appearance in the afternoon.it was a beautiful day, sun shining for all of the competitor's, who have an early morning start. Dancing, running, high jump, long jump are a few if the sports and of course tossing the caber are wonderful to see so close at hand. The individual and massed pipe bands are truly amazing an amazing sight and sound as they enter the arena and march while playing beautiful music. There are plenty of places to eat and drink as well as toilet facilities, a really wonderful day we won't ever forget.

You can get a taste of the Highland games in this glorious setting. The stands and seating for Her Majesty are quite basic but the scenery and tradition is breathtaking. Display panels tell the story of the games and for a small fee you can have a game of putting ! Close to teashops and souvenir shops in the village.
