I'm reviewing this, as a driving instructor. the Banbury Test Centre is the place where I know my pupils will always get a fair deal. The examiners are helpful and do their best to make my pupils feel comfortable. The feedback, post-test, is very thorough and constructive. I take pupils to test at six different driving test centres and I look forward to the days when I'm taking a pupil to a test in Banbury. I'm not saying they always pass but, if they aren't successful, I always feel I know why. Thank you to the Banbury examiners!

Passed first time Banbury is nice to drive around!
I went and did my test here today, unfortunately i didn't pass as an incident within the first section of the drive ruined the run. However the instructor and manager who were both in the car were lovely people. Facility was a little small and road in was bumpy but that was no fault of the staff. Edit: Just passed again with Graham, 0 minors
Failed my test here today (apparently hesitating on an emergency stop) I was told the rest of my driving was great and to "book again soon" - Well I would, but you can't get a test at this centre for over a month! It's ridiculous. The test centre is so small and the car park is very crowded. Doesn't make for a good start. I'll be trying again at a different test centre.
I did not pass my driving test today, but I wanted to say that my examiner Ben was very genuine and supportive. Seriously.
I had booked my test for the 30th about a month and a half prior, I was very confident in my driving and preferred to drive in my own car because I felt more comfortable and understood it better. I arrived 5 minutes before my test so I was sure not to miss it and I parked my car in their small parking area (accompanied with my dad) I went into the waiting room my examiner Ian (a very cheerful and kind man) registered me and brought me outside he told me to sit in the car and wait. He began to inspect the car for issues (broken lights, flat tyres, etc) he then began to look closely at the front right wheel he called over his manager (Craig) who only glanced at the wheel and told him that there's a problem. Ian told me to get out of the car. He said that he's going to have to cancel the test due to the front wheel "not having a Hubcap on it". A Hubcap... I was very confused on why I was cancelled for this? It didn't say anything about a missing hubcap on the official .gov website, the only part about the wheels is "the car must have no tyre damage and the legal tread depth on each tyre - you cannot have a space-saver spare tyre fitted" our tyre wasn't a space-saver tyre but I feel that they believed it was and that's why they cancelled the test. Me and my dad waited for Craig the manager and when we asked him about the reason for the cancellation he said that it was just because we didn't have a hubcap. We told him that there's nothing on the official website about hubcaps and hubcaps wouldn't cause any safety issues nor would matter to an MOT to which he replied "We've got different guidelines to the online ones, I've never actually read the online guidelines." I'm now trying to re-book my test for as soon as possible. I'm not going to fix the "problem" with the car because frankly I find it to be a waste of my time, much like how them cancelling my test for a made up reason was a waste of my time.
Very friendly examiners. Had a very good experience and felt at ease during the test.
I recently had 2 driving instructors ( one after the other) which I didn't get along well with 1 month before my first test so I made the choice to part ways with them. On my first test I had this examiner called Ian (one of the four examiners on that day), wasn't friendly at all, regretful to shake hands with me before the test and failed me due to a roundabout which I was in the wrong lane. This I accepted because I realised it was a serious issue. However, I went to take my test again this week which has been 2 weeks after my first one and it was Ian again! This time it was out of 5 examiners and somehow I don't think this is luck. Before the test, he had the same attitude as last time so I asked if he remembered me and he said "It could of been me, I can't remember". He failed me because I drove over the centre line of the road when both sides were fully parked with cars and I had no choice. He took me on multiple difficult roundabouts so I think he definitely remembers me and because I failed at roundabouts last time, he decided to take me on 5 consecutive ones. I think there is a conspiracy between my previous driving instructors and Ian as there's no way this is luck. My ex instructors were Tony Kaye and Harvey Wicks. Both situated near West Oxfordshire.
