Easy to get to with quite a few parking spots. Lovely views of the surrounding countryside and a fairly easy walk along the old railway railway line (tracks removed!) to surrounding villages and towns.

A nice area to pause and take in the view mid-walk or make this place your start/finish point by taking advantage of the Free Parking Area. There are short walks along the old railway path in both directions to Middleton-in-Teesdale and Barnard Castle and, for those looking for a longer hike, the walk will take you all the way up to High Force and beyond. The choice is yours. It's location, on the edge of the pretty dales village of Mickleton where there are two public houses serving quality beers and gorgeous food plus a nearby children's playpark, makes this an ideal spot for a lovely day out. Public toilets are available at Mickleton Village Hall.
Great peaceful area. Good underfoot and flat . Picnic benches and good parking but limited. No toilet facilities.
Great car parking spot to access the Tees Valley Railway Walk.
Really good place for a picnic and long dog walk, two big benches and two ways of long country walk trail next to farms and wildlife
Good parking for walking the old railway line.
