My son has been with this Sea Cadets unit for over a year now and his experience can only be described as AMAZING! The opportunities are very varied, from seamanship, first aid, archery to making real friends and learning responsibly, real principles of team work and core values of comradeship. As a parent I am extremely thankful to all the members of staff (who are all volunteers) as they do a sterling job! Don’t hesitate and visit the unit on a parade day to meet everyone and maybe join the exiting team!

My son joined this unit 3.5 years ago when he turned ten. He thoroughly enjoys the camaraderie with fellow cadets and the opportunity to learn new skills. The unit is professionally run by a lively and caring team. Most Sundays the cadets are out on the boats on the Thames. Sea Cadets offer many boating and skills-based courses over the holidays. It is a great way to keep active and engaged!

My daughter has been a cadet for over 5 years after being invited to have a look at the unit by a friend. How thankful we are as a family that she had the opportunity to join the unit on that first visit and has been committed ever since. Over the years, I have watched my daughter grow in confidence and become a young woman that we are very proud off, especially when we get to see her in uniform. She has also be able to gain many new skills all as a result of the hard work, patience and time that the volunteer staff have put in over the years.

After 3 years as a cadet here, I am still as impressed as my first day. The efficiency with which the volunteers run the unit is outstanding. We receive training like no else in London. The courses and opportunities are comparable to the standards of the Royal Navy. I would urge anyone, and everyone, to somehow make an effort to help this unit as well. The staff are all volunteers, and we are a youth charity. Any donations are welcome, and we have book sales every Sunday, and a couple of humble sales every year. All in all, this unit has given me something unique. I recommend it to all of you out there. Please help. Thank you

5 years as a cadet here, and just loved it. Run by an incredibly dedicated and expert group of staff, there is a great atmosphere and something for everyone to get involved in, whether it's sports, boat handling, mechanical engineering, sailing, shooting to name a few. Made friends for life and came away with high quality training and skills I wouldn't have picked up anywhere else.
