I have used Brewer Harding & Rowe when buying and selling property several times over the years. I have always found them to be professional, reliable and good value. Toby Barnes has always made sure I am kept fully updated throughout the transaction and I would absolutely recommended them to anyone looking for a Solicitor. Katherine

Only went with Brewer Harding and Rowe because John Symonds joined them and he did all our legal requirements prior to ceasing trading as a sole trader. After John retired we used them for the conveyance of our property without any problems. However as cash buyers for our next property we have had the wrong address printed on the convancing, the spelling wrong on the land registry address, requests for information from the vendors solicitors which has already been provided. Unfortunately due to these ( problems) which we are presumably paying for I cannot truly recommend them for convancing.

Professional and efficient firm. Welcoming beautiful waiting room, lovely warm fire glowing. Receptionist pleasant, making you feel at ease. Have dealt with these solicitors for many years and very satisfied with each personal transaction.

These must be the nastiest and most amateurish solicitors around. My friend used them for conveyancing, to buy a 1/2 million house in Barnstaple. He was a cash buyer, having just sold his property in Portugal. Got to the day before exchange, just before Xmas and BHR dropped him on the basis they did not agree with the Portuguese sales methods (in Portugal, if you are not selling / buying through an agent and are a cash buyer, the buyer sends the money directly to the seller), even though a very respected registered Portuguese lawyer emailed BHR confirming the facts, offering whatever proof they needed that everything was 100% proper). BHR rejected this and dropped my friend right in it, as his family had to move out of a terrible rental (big water leak, effluence system broken down, exterior door easily broken into, massive radon levels, etc). Do I believe BHR's reasons for doing this? No, of course not. I will tell you why they most likely did this to my friend. The agent of the ghastly property he rented uses BHR as solicitors. And my friend is in the process of suing that agent. When the agent sent BHR the papers, they realized there was a conflict of interest (which they should have picked up upon before accepting my friend as a client), and then lied about the reasons for terminating the conveyancing to both cover up their disgraceful lack of process and professionalism, plus in order to claim to be able to represent the rental agent in a much more profitable litigation process involving my friend. Be warned. Be warned. Be warned. I believe BHR have broken a multitude of legal and lawyer conventions, and acted like really heartless ********* doing what they did and when they did it to my friend.

Flatly told if your not a client of theirs then they will not verify ID for The Land Registry. How do companys like this get business!
