Absolutely disgusted We booked and paid for our holiday just before Corona Virus started. Although insured we have still not received a penny back from them. They don't answer to e-mailed or phone calls. I would advise people to be very wary

Booked my summer holiday with them last year( never used them before }holiday was cancelled two days after my final payment the store has not reopened rearranged a holiday via phone holiday was more expensive but no extra charge to us even though the same holiday with another agent was over 100 cheaper so i don't think i will be using Barrhead again

We have used the Newcastle branch nearly every year for the past 14 years. I booked a holiday for my wife and her friend in January to go in early June. Holiday was cancelled by the travel firm running this trip for Barrhead a week before departure who had then tried to contact customer services Barrhead to no avail either by phone or email. I have also tried, plus email to the Newcastle branch and then to customer services and as they stipulate on their automated email reply that they would respond to my request within 28 days. Iam still waiting after 7 weeks. I find the lack of response and also not being to speak to someone appalling service, especially as our refund will be nearly 4 thousand pounds. Some customer service eh? We are now very anxious and have no faith in Barrhead and indeed in the whole travel industry as they all seem to just shrug any responsibility. Incidentally we also had a problem with TUI but at least we could get through on the telephone eventually, when we did they solved the cruise refund immediately. So Barrhead I wonder if like the email someone will read this and perhaps feel ashamed! Probably not! As I feel customers email will either have filed or deleted upon receipt. Yes Iam angry. You do not deserve even one star.

This was positively the worst experience of incompetence I’ve had in recent years. The level of professionalism handling my case was non existant. I would advise anyone thinking of booking through this agent to walk on by!

Hopeful that it's just a misunderstanding and not deliberately deceitful but had "extras" charged to credit card without telling us. First attempt at resolution went badly so will try again (pretty sure they aren't deliberately scamming us but has definitely crossed my mind).... even if not actively criminal it's been incredibly time consuming and their attitude has varied from dismissive to actively aggressive.....would've been better off booking direct.

Absolutely appalling! We found a holiday to Orlando Disney World Resort going August 2018. It was a fantastic price. We discussed it overnight and decided to book the following day online if the offer was still available. We booked and more importantly paid in full. After having received confirmation online we told our children who were incredibly excited at the prospect of such a trip. We received a phone call later that day telling us there was a mistake with the price and that we would not be able to go despite the fact we had received a booking confirmation number on the Barrhead website and an email. We were told that we would be refunded all monies paid without any attempt to offer a reasonable explanation other than that the price they themselves had on their website was incorrect and that we should not have been able to book it as we had. We can only liken the experience to buying an item of clothing in a shop, which was reduced and then being rang up later on by the store and being asked to give it back as it should never have been priced the way it was. Our children are understandably devastated with the news and we feel it was incredibly inconsiderate of the company to do this. We are now wondering how many other people have been misled in this way? Are sale prices really only sale prices if they are fake highly inflated prices, posted before being dropped down to give the illusion of savings? We are incredibly disappointed with our experience of this company and await our refund which, to add salt to the wound, will take any number of days to go back into our bank account.
