Brass knocker basin is on the Somerset Coalfield canal which is off the Kennet and Avon canal just west of the Dundas Aqueduct. It is a busy place with a restaurant, toilets, boat and cycle hire and public toilets. The canal is, sadly, derelict but was used to transport coal via the Kennet and Avon to Bath. There is a large car park for visitors.
