Wanted to purchase some tasty, delicious although expensive macarons which I cannot fault but what I can fault is the attitude of one of the staff! I had to step outside after her shocking attitude towards us because we went the wrong way in one way system which actually was not at all signposted anywhere. Now pardon me if I'm wrong but manners don't cost anything and this older female member of staff clearly has this in no shape or form. I stepped out as to not cause a commotion and my wife almost did too due to embarrassment (she already struggles in social situations due to severe anxiety) but she really wanted to get a treat for her mum. My step son also wanted to buy himself a treat with his pocket money but when he went to pay he got told he couldn't use his cash as only card was being accepted (he is not old enough to have his own card yet!) Luckily I was still in the shop so paid on my card. I'm aware of the current situation but surely it is not the best financial decision to say no cash at all! Looking at other reviews it seems that the shop's main issue is customer service and believe me without good customer service skills, you won't have a business to invite customers in to.
The kouignettes pastries are great, however the macarons were very disappointing, especially for the price. Staff aren't the friendliest.
Absolutely wonderful place, my partner and I visited this chocolate haven in Lille and couldn’t wait to visit Bath to get our fix again! Absolutely must try the kouignettes - pure buttery sugary goodness! We bought 4, walked around the block eating them, then looped back round to buy more as they are simply irresistible, nothing else like it! The owner Patricia is lovely and helpful and her passion for chocolate shines through with every customer. Do not leave Bath without visiting! À la prochaine! Frances & Nab
