It’s a reputable shop that’s been here years. Experienced ladies that’s what you are paying for!!! I would definitely take my curtains in for hemming.
This is a great shop for bits and bobs to sew with, beautifull colours of threads. There's also gorgeous material to treat you home to bespoke curtains the costs won't scare you either. The girls are very helpful and quite funny. Yes as a visitor to Whitburn I would definitely recommend that you go and gave a look in this shop. They also do clothes alterations. Good shop.
I didn't like to say to the lovely lady at the shop and I cant say a bad word about the lady. She was so sweet, but I was so disappointed with the job done taking up a bridesmaids dress as It was too long by about ft. But when we went to get it and my daughter tried it on in the shop after alterations I could have cried. It was about half a ft up at the back and trailing on the floor at the front. The seamstress didn't take into account the shape of my daughter to ensure it would sit at the same height all the way round. The dress is to be quite frankt ruined. I will never return to the shop. Am sorry but very disappointed and it cost me 45 to have the dress ruined. I was on the floor in the shop pinning the hem up at the front for the seamstress to try to fix it. There was plenty of dress to begin with as it was about a ft too long to begin with. They easily could have taken less off at the back and more at the front to ensure when on it sat level even the sides of the dress are at different heights. I wish I had taken it up myself. I tried to be polite and keep calm but all the time I was fuming in the shop seeing.my daughter with the dress on. When my daughter puts the dress on again I will post images of the hem. The wedding is in 2 weeks am frightened to let the bride see the dress on her bridesmaid I dont know what to say to her am gutted.
This is a great place to go for all your alterations on clothing and curtains cause this girls can really sew. They come to your home measure up then make whatever you want from the range of stunning materials. Theres also buttons and other haberdashery to be got. There's also the very funny chit chat that keeps you amused while you wait making you wish you could stay longer. As I can't t thread the dud end of the jaggy thing am a good customer. Thanks girls.
