I love this shop. For a while Edinburgh was lacking a proper yarn shop, so I was thrilled to see Be Inspired Fibres had opened in Marchmont. The owner, Mei, is super knowledgeable and can answer all your questions. I recommend you check out the website/ Instagram before stopping by to get an idea of what you want, as it's just one person in at a time due to covid and leisurely browsing isn't an option for the time being! One last thing, this shop is great for stocking local yarns. Definitely check it out!

I can’t say enough about this shop in the lovely Marchmont area. I went in search of a shop that could look at my favourite beanie hat and provide the wool needed to make an identical hat by Scots Knit Scotland (Instagram). When I walked inside I was amazed at the array of colours and thicknesses. Once customers had left, I asked the owner if she could help. Mei introduced herself and was not only helpful but educational. I asked who her clients were - thinking many were Scots - but Mei said it was often tourists. We ended up talking about what inspires people to knit. Quite the conversation, so much so that I not only left having made an order for some wool, but I myself bought needles and wool at Mei’s recommendation to see how relaxing it can be. ‘Be Inspired Fibres’ is the perfect name for this delightful shop. You will not be disappointed.

This is an absolutely wonderful store, the owner was so friendly and a brilliant help. Don't let the size fool you, there is an extensive selection of yarns and tools as well.
