Only 2 donation entrance fee. Not usually open on a Monday - but didn't realise & walked in. We received a very warm welcome. Run by local volunteers, but very professional exhibitions. Worth every penny! This year's summer exhibition features Crime & Punishment (wirh particular reference to Beaminster & the surrounding area).

Volunteers are so welcoming. Museum is packed with local info. There is a display case upstairs with a tunic and lapel badges from a auxilliar. He was one of Churchills Secret Army. Civilian saboteurs in WW2.
Kids had a great time with the activities there and got a chocolate each for completing one of the challenges which they loved, topped off by receiving a parking ticket, sign was up round the corner, so personally won't be stopping there again.
Very welcoming museum warden, great nugget of local history !
Lovely community museum stuffed with things covering the history of this historic town in West Dorset. Open Tuesday Thursday Saturday and Sunday (afternoon) Easter until Autumn. Staffed by friendly and knowledgeable local volunteers. Special exhibitions change every few weeks. Well worth a visit. Parking in square nearby with range of shops, cafes and restaurants!
