Dan was friendly, polite and patient with my toddler asking questions very well. The work was incredible and he also kindly helped corrected works done from a different trades person who did a bad job. I will be using Dan again for other jobs. My new fitted doors make my house a home and I am so happy!

Dan did exactly what we asked for, with exceptional attention to detail, so that we were able to maintain all the period features that are important to us. I thoroughly recommend him for any carpentry or joinery work you might want doing.

This review is long over due as the work was completed early February 2020, but at least I can say I’ve fully tested the quality of the work, it’s excellent and has stood the test of time and 2 toddlers! Dan did an absolutely amazing job and totally transformed the way my stairs look. The banister in my home was a very dated horizontal wooden look. I had the vision to have a wooden handrail and iron spindles. I spoke to a couple of other carpenter/joiners before and all I got was a ‘no I won’t work with metal spindles’ or ‘it’s too big a job you’re better off replacing your whole staircase!’ Thankfully I found Dan who was very good at listening to my design plan and realistically telling me what we can and can’t do and explained how I could get the desired look without replacing the whole staircase and keeping the costs to a reasonable amount. I was so please to know it was possible. Dan was very professional and although he hadn’t worked with iron spindles before this he did his research and executed the job perfectly. It’s by far one of the nicest features in my home now and the thing I get most comments and compliments on. The best thing about working with Dan was that I could see he was also excited about seeing the end results and it was great to see how much joy and pride he takes in his work. I would 100% recommend using Dan Young and have plans to bring more work his way in the future.
