Stunning views from the top from every side. Well worth the steep walk up so you do have to be mobile. The medieval castle and grounds with its 4,000 year history is very interesting. Loads to explore Including a replica of a Bronze Age roundhouse, caves (though they were blocked off) and a beautiful woodland walk. It has a small museum and visitors centre/shop with lovely enthusiastic staff. A beautiful day for the visit will make all the difference. 3 for parking last check (right money is advised) The castle entrance is quite expensive so I was glad my brother was an English heritage member. You do need to book.

Fabulous medieval castle over 4,000 years old, so it’s mainly ruins, but still a super Castellón to visit. It’s quite high, and when you get to the top the views are phenomenal. On clear days you can see 30 miles or more. Takes about 10 to 15 minutes walk to the top depending how fit you are. There’s good parking, a small shop, toilets and refreshments. They recently added Bronze Age structure. Overall about 1 to 2 hours looking around. I got around and took these pictures today all in under 1 hour.

Great place lovely day out, my children loved it. Lots to see and space to run around. They enjoyed dropping stones down the well and seeing how long it took to reach the bottom. Beautiful sites from the top too. Would LOVE to explore the caves.

Great place to visit and view a historical site. Lots of places to explore, the castle itself, caves, round house, lowerlands and woodlands, and learn about the area. Plus a really good place to have a picnic with the young ones. Buy the guide book, which cost just 4 and it opens up the past, describing what happened in the surrounding area and castle. If you're lucky, as we were on the woodland walk, you might just see the majestic Peregrine Falcons.

The castle was amazing, live nearby but not visited for a few years. Really enjoyed this visit and English Heritage have improved the site even more highly recommended.
