First opened in 1935 as an L shaped building then extended in the same art deco style when capacity needed for the GPO's new STD telephone system this was for many years the main trunk exchange carrying the majority of long distance calls into and out of Northern Ireland. The uglier adjacent Seymour House was added in the 1970s to increase capacity further. Now converted to offices and data centre usage. In common with similar buildings across the UK the basement houses a set of bunker style rooms that were the old cold war communication centre for Belfast
