The policy and service to buy policy was very good and painless. My only issue was an overlapping of policies. I had already taken out a new policy with Hastings and then 5days later money was removed from my account for a continuation of the policy I set up last year. When I called the operator was extremely helpful and issued a refund straight away. But the following Monday I received a txt from my bank stating I was still in overdraft and would incur charges. I called Hastings and once again was reassured that the money would take 3 to 5 working days to show up on my account. Because of the charges I would incur as a result they offered 20 compensation for the trouble. I have to say this exceeded my expectations. Thank you. It's a rare thing these days. Having lost my job at the start of the Pandemic it has not been easy financially. Anything that impacts on my purse strings is a huge unwelcome burden. Mistakes happen everyday. You handled things amazingly. I am so grateful

Pretty shady little insurance company, very much lacking in integrity and class, I cancelled my policy after realising they doubled the cost of my insurance! For a simple incorrect date on the original quote, the increase in cost wasn't at all clear either... No email to notify a change in price just one saying that my policy had been updated, which I took to be confirmation that all was ok! Cancellation fee came to 120 pounds!!

Received a paltry refund of 25 from Hastings car insurance to compensate me for the fact that I could not use my car for twenty weeks because as a vulnerable person I had to isolate from the pandemic, therefore, I could not use my car.. When I questioned Hastings about the refund, they informed me I that I still should insure the car because it is either parked on the drive or in my garage. But my house insurance covers the driveway and the garage so this was a very poor excuse and a cop out. There was also a great deal of difficulty when applying for the insurance as the verifying link from the bank for the payment of the policy never appeared. I tried again the next day and found that the cost of the policy had gone up.. A very disappointing experience all round. Brian O’Connor
