We at Beat It Percussion are delighted to still be working with Albion Court during these challenging times. Rather than focusing on what is not possible, Albion Court are open to what is possible and to finding innovative ways that we can continue to offer enrichment to the residents through sound and rhythm. We are providing regular live via Zoom group relaxation sessions using gongs and singing bowls. Support staff reported that 'they all look really relaxed' afterwards. Looking forward to the next one.

Before lockdown I as a Diabetes Ambassador and Activist had the pleasure of doing a diabetes awareness presentation at this care home for elderly people. Laura Wakefield the Customer Service Manager was instrumental in arranging what indeed was a well attended session on health and well-being with both staff and residents. I was truly impressed with the entire surroundings from the moment I parked my car in the spacious car park and the friendliness and welcome that was accorded to me by the staff. The cleanliness of the establishment was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the residents and staff who were so eager to learn and take on board healthy eating advice and physical activity. To hear repeatedly residents saying 'Please come again' left a lump in my throat and I will certainly re-visit when lockdown has ended. Keep up the good work there looking after the elderly and more vulnerable in our society who all were well cared for.

I recently spent a morning there talking with the residents and a group of local school children about health and fitness. We were join by a local fitness instructor who got all the residents and children doing fun exercises and interacting together. the residents were happy to join in and enjoyed the morning. There was a very homely feeling and all the staff were very caring and warm when interacting with the residents.

Went to visit my uncle at first I found the home pleasing to the eye but when I exited the lift my nose was assaulted by the strong smell of urine! Walking along the corridor the smell was very prominent. Also the care my uncle received was disgusting. He has dementia and was treated like he was a criminal as they called the police to deal with him and social services. How can they call themselves a care home if they can't care for their patients!!!!
