Visited looking for a ankh ended up purchasing a iron cross 2nd class ww2, a birthdate gift to the self, as would normally be riding the waves on a 9ft 6inch Iron Cross longboard @ this time of year! Moreover left with the iron cross in hand rather than @ the feet, based on the flared Maltese cross of the Teutonic knights/hostipillar of which was derived from the Egyptian Ankh. Greatly enjoyed the experience well recommend especially veterans

Nestled in the charming, atmospheric old town of Bishops Castle, 'Empires and Eagles' is a wonderful spot for lovers of antiques, militaria, books, bric a brac, jewellery, or novelties from bygone eras.An old world shop with vintage music within the ambience, it is a virtual 'Alladin's Cave' of pre war history.I have bought ornamental walking canes, antique whistles, bells, World War 1 artefacts and many fine, quality items. The proprietors are knowledgeable and very helpful, even sourcing items at request.Have a nice day out in Bishops Castle, with specialist shops, boutique cafes, fine pubs and sandwich bars.
