Grimsthorpe Castle has beautiful grounds and great architecture would recommend if you are staying the night or even for a day trip where you can stroll around and not get bored.

Really lovely place to visit for all the family. Don't forget to take a picnic to enjoy while taking in the scenery
What a stunning, beautiful privately owned mansion/stately home. Still lived in and even the state bedrooms are used for guests to stay in. Staff knowledgeable and friendly. Well worth a visit
Beautiful gardens you could spend all day just walking around them, the views were spectacular . The coffee shop was nice and the staff were very friendly they served snacks and sandwiches and a variety of cakes .... The castle didn't open till twelve but I found the history and staff very interesting. It is well worth a visit I can recommend it.
Lovely place with beautiful gardens, acres of grounds and lots of history. There are walks/cycle routes for the energetic, an adventure play-park for kids, formal gardens & kitchen gardens and the house is well worth a look round. There is a small but very nice gift shop, a lovely cafe & clean toilets with baby-changing facilities. Things to watch for; some of the paths are gravel and may be difficult for prams/wheelchairs. Dogs are not allowed in various areas (though this did not seem to stop certain visitors taking their dog in the play park). The overall feel of Grimsthorpe is welcoming and well-kept, and the guides were friendly and knowledgeable. English Heritage members get a small discount.
