There is no help for suicidal or emergency mental health in Dorset. So many lives lost due to the lack of emergency mental health care in Dorset.

Only dropping a star as it was a bit difficult to contact this service in the beginning. I emailed them saying I was struggling to get hold of them as I was at work and they replied super quick saying they'd phone once I was home from work at the time I gave them. They phoned bang on time and I had an assessment phone call set the week after. The assessment phone call was around 45-50 mins long, the doctor was really nice and reassuring, she gave me plenty of options on the next steps and listened to my worries about group sessions so she booked me in for some 1-1 work. Also the receptionist that called me to set up the assessment was so lovely and understanding too.

Just had a 1 1/2 hour telephone session with Sophie. She was so professional, caring and remembered everything I had said, even though I had to get her to call me back because of a Drs appointment. I feel positive that this organisation is going to help me through this difficult time. So far...highly recommended!

They should be ashamed of the reviews here. I have seen first hand the hoops vulnerable young adults have to jump through to get the correct help/support they need. Telephone Assessments should be banned

I never leave reviews for things but I feel I actually need to leave this review because there is a serious problem with this service. As the other reviews have said, I feel completely failed by Steps to Wellbeing. I was referred to the service by a Psychiatrist in Poole, went through the initial contact with them and did everything they asked. Was awaiting them to call me to arrange a first appointment and heard nothing. Tried calling quite a few times on different days and could only ever get the answering machine. I then had an email come through saying that as I haven't made contact they were taking me off their books and referring me back to my GP. I don't know what's going on with this service but someone needs to look into it ASAP. Government funding seems to be going to a service that apparently doesn't even exist? I could be wrong, but hopefully someone sees all these reviews and implements some drastic changes.

steps backwards to wellbeing. this service is run by people who shouldnt be allowed to say they help others. i have waited over a month to get any sort of response and when it came it was innadequate and they couldnt even get my name right. a disgrace which left me feeling more unhappy and helpless than if i hadnt bothered. streets drugs have been better help than this lot. thanks.
