Good for kids
Visited Heddon on the Wall during course of local walk. This delightful village I have praised elsewhere in my reviews. Likewise various locations on Hadrian Wall. Suffice to say that, for those walking Hadrian's Wall Footpath, a fine introduction to Wall country proper. For the casual visitor the quiet dignified atmosphere and setting, high on the banks of the Tyne, is the perfect counterbalance to the hustle and bustle of the nearby A69.

Love this place and the history that’s preserved here. I visited the wall back when I was at primary school, this was very educational and I learned so much about the part my country (Scotland) played and the Romans. Now today my own daughter is learning about the wall...
Fantastic place if you love history. The Fort is worth visiting but you must book in advance. There is a small museum next to it and souvenir shop with ice cream and coffee..you can walk up from the Fort to Sycamore Gap...worth it!
-6 trek, during the night brought the sycamore gap into a a other world. almost godly like place. absolutely stunning sky line with thousands upon thousands of stars. Highly recommended you get off ya behinds and get out to see this wonder on a clear, snowy, fresh night
Good for a day out to learn something new with the family. Easy to get there, parking is not too expensive. Nothing extraordinary about it, though.
