Great place to view the U S Airforce in action kids will love it.However remember this is a military airbase not Heathrow they may be long periods of inactivity , the car park is a reasonable size but would fill up quickly on a nice summers day. On weekends there is likely to be nothing to see. The only downside for taking pictures or filming is the fence so consider taking some ladders oh and there are no toilets here.

A great place to see the legendary F-15. You are getting an airshow for free especially when they return from there training missions. Just bare in mind that they're are no toilets though.

RAF lakenheath is a great place to go and watch the aircraft take off, and it is free to visit so it makes for a very cheap day out for any age. You will literally feel it in the ground and through your body when the fighter jets take off, and is an amazing sight to watch. There is a food stand there which sells hot drinks The car park does get extremely busy however but I have always managed to find somewhere to park

A corner of the airfield at the US Air Force base in Suffolk which had been put aside for aircraft enthusiasts to gather and view the activities. One of the busier military bases, Lakenheath is home to two Squadrons of F-15E Strike Eagles and one of the standard F-15C Eagle fighter. The base also hosts deployments of visiting USAF fighters from time to time, including F-22 Raptors and F-16 Fighting Falcons. During these times the area can fill up very early in the day as people gather from across the country, not just the local area, to view the increased flying. The enclosure itself is nothing more than a series of parking slots. No toilet facilities exist but a local entrepreneur usually manages to set up a burger stall with hot sandwiches and drinks. The nearest toilets are located in the Tesco Metro in the nearby town of Brandon. As only one rubbish bin is on the site, if can soon fill up when families visit. It is possible to park here and walk to other areas along the fence for different views, but be aware of the fast-moving traffic on the busy road. Parking on the adjacent grass verges in this area is NOT permitted as they have been designated Roadside Nature Reserves. All-in-all, if aircraft are your thing, this is a great place to visit, but be aware of the lack of facilities provided.
