Excellent course even at covid era!! I attended the 5 days Practical Commercial Distilling Course plus 1 day Masterclass on Gin Distilling and all was a fantastic course!! The organisers managed to deliver a first class course even at these unprecedented times! The course context, the presenters, the distillery visit and all the course info were very informative with all key tips on the subject! I would recommend it to people that either want to find out some generic info about distilling or even to those that are ready to set up their own business! It's also held at an amazing place in picturesque Bakewell!

I attended the Practical Commercial Distilling Course and Gin Masterclass from Sept 28 to Oct 4 this year to gain valuable insight and experience to bolster the knowledge I already had on the subject and the desire to set up my own commercial distillery. It started with a very warm welcome from Julie and Chris and I arrived having already obtained all my HMRC and Local Authority licences and some experience on the Monday morning. I had a very small degree of reservation in case the course was going to cover much of the things I'd already done but me being me, I always believe everyday is a school day and tend to place existing knowledge and experience to the back of my mind and absorb what is being taught and then build on everything later on. I wasn't disappointed in any way and actually further updated what I already knew (read what I thought I already knew!) about distilling and the processes surrounding it. The course is well organised, we were spaced apart for Covid, had some great lunches, we visited Peak Ales and viewed their distillery setup and had great presenters from varying establishments some of whom had been in the same position as us not too long ago as well as Jamie Baxter who is the most unassuming expert you'll ever come across. His knowledge is boundless and he doesn't stop in the classroom. There are many food and drink establishments in Bakewell and we frequented many of them after class where Jamie was open to many questions and he didn't disappoint. There is something for everyone in this course and the information that's provided is invaluable and will save you more money than you'll pay for the course. We had great craic and I met some lasting friends from near and far from all walks of life. I can't recommend this course enough and it was money well spent as far as I was concerned. You won't be disappointed.
Attended the first distilling course in the hope that it would furnish me with the knowledge to feel able to set up a craft distillery. This hope was fully accomplished - the course was comprehensive and smoothly organised with excellent resources. Can thoroughly recommend - haven't had this much fun on an educational event for many a year!
Recently attended a Craft Beer Home Brewing course at the Brew School. Excellent day, lead by a brewer from nearby Thornebridge brewery. Enhancing class with hands on elements and tasting session. I would definitely recommend the school to anyone interested in Home brewing or setting up a commercial enterprise.
Had great fun on the 5 day commercial brewing course. Extremely informative, very well laid out, great presentations and brilliant trips to Brampton and Triple point breweries. The take away notes will no doubt be valuable for me moving forward
