I restored a 1959 Volkswagen Sedan Deluxe that was purchased new by my parents in Paris, France, in November 1958. It underwent a total restoration down to the last nut, bolt and washed over a 12 to 15 year period. Samples of the factory original seat material was sent to Bridge of Weir, who duplicated the color and texture. The upholstery shop used hidden pleats in the restoration process, which requires very large pieces of leather, not small strips.
