Last November I visited Hinkley point b and it was the best day I had, the tour guides were really friendly and willing to answer any questions. As soon as i stepped in the turbine hall i was just amazed at how clean and tidy it was. The observation deck or room was really interesting because you could see the refuelling gantry and the reactor lid from it. The control room looked so good and a lot smaller than i expected but still it was fascinating being able to see it from the observation deck. Sadly the plant is closing some time in 2021 and sad to see a British reactor design fade away but to never be forgotten the AGR reactor will not be forgotten. Thankyou EDF for maintaining and giving tours around this amazing power station!

I am 3 miles from the new power station development. The local traffic has increased by 500%, the local pollution building this site has increased significantly, the landscape is now raising up from the horizon with numerous amount of cranes. I am struggling to cope with how this new reactor will benefit any of us. I am struggling to understand why they have not decommissioned the older nuclear sites next to this new power station. There is one of the largest tidal estuaries in the world just a stones throw away which would generate a huge amount of natural electricity.

Got bored on Sunday so thought \What can one do with one's spare time\ Decided to plot a course to Hinkley Point, simply because I could and I set forth and made my way out of Bristol. Along the way I encountered many obstacles like some mad old guy in his mobility scooter somehow managing to hog the whole road and lots of strong wind and rain, almost as if the gods themselves were trying to warn me away from my epic quest! Well my good fellows, once I arrived upon the gates of the power station, I was confused to find I could just drive in... So I did. In awe and confusion I looked upon the sparkling new roads, the cranes towering above the earth and the main plant just off in the distance. With caution I slowly rode further into the complex until... Until I saw a rather ominous black 4x4, bottled it (not literally) and left.
