Large hotel with circa 500 rooms. Staff are mostly caring and attentive. However, I found the evening meals to be a little early, around 4:30pm and the plastic cutlery tainted my enjoyment of the hearty cuisine somewhat! Bizarrely, my door was stuck and wouldn't open until 7 each morning! I would suggest they get the maintenence person on that, as I was unable to go for my leisurely evening pipe and stroll and so, I'm afraid they must lose a . Checking in to this hotel was awkward too, as they asked me a lot of really rather personal questions and the cavity search was more than a little invasive! Over breakfast, the young man from the room next to me kept asking if I wanted to \go for it\. I said o\ as I wasn't certain how long 'going for it' would take and I didn't want to miss out on any of the excursions that the hotel staff had planned for us. After a brief and luke warm shower (another ), I was sat on our coach and bound for our first excursion to Stirling Sheriff Court. What a marvellous surprise! After 45 minutes the plastic seating was beginning to chafe, so I was relieved to finally arrive at the historic and elegant court buildings. Everybody inside was in character and this they maintained, even through the picnic lunch. A splendid and utterly immersive experience. I would definitely go back and I did for 18 months!.
