Lovely warm homely setting. My child loves coming to Ambourne House. Fantastic staff, keep you informed on your child development. New and exciting activities for your child to do each day. They always encourage outdoor play in their lovely garden. I would not hesitate recommending Ambourne House to friends and family.

Ambourne House is a very human-face-like and friendly nursery with very original education and activities for children. My daughter has been going there for a year since she was 1 1/2 and is always very passionate to go. Unlike some nurseries I have seen around the area, the staff seem to genuinely enjoy the work which I think is a big reason why the children do so. The children are often led to learn about real life, for example to plant vegetables, cook, draw, wash hands, behave themselves in a group etc. They play in a garden with real lawn, trees and many toys and attractions are wooden, not plastic. In nurseries I have seen around, they wash children hands with wipes, have a green carpet instead lawn and they tend to have the same things as in an ordinary playground in the yard, so this is not the case in Ambourne House. I appreciate that the keeper of my daughter often spends 1-to-1 time with her and puts an effort to teach her something new which she always seems to surprise me with later.
My son started at ambourne house in Jan 2020. It was the best decision i made. From the moment I first walked in the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. My son talks alot about his friends, the staff, and the environment. I feel so relaxed that he is safe, looked after, and treated respectfully. I would recommend this nursery because it has bought such joy to my son and that is fantastic to see. The staff really engage with the children, and there is never a dull moment. Thankyou ambourne house for everything you have done, and will continue to do for my son.
I couldn't have found a more perfect nursery for my son to attend. The nursery has a genuine family feel and they have made us feel so welcome from the very first day. The facilities are outstanding and the activities my son gets to partake in, from painting and baking. Everyday something new they are doing, mean he is so excited to go in each day. He has been thoroughly supported in his learning and the progress he has made over the time he has been there is truly exceptional. He absolutely loves nursery and has grown so much in confidence over his time there. He is made to feel supported and cared for in all that he does at Ambourne house and I can not thank them enough for the superb start he has had to his education.
Having 10 years experience working in Early years settings including 'Outstanding' schools and children centres and a degree in this area I am a particularly fussy parent! I visited many settings across Bristol and after visiting Ambourne no other nursery came close on our list of priority. It has fantastic resources, a large adventurous garden and the most warm, friendly and knowledgeable staff. My daughter enjoys going to nursery so much that in the morning she often runs to Lizzie with her arms out wide and when I go to pick her up I struggle to get her to come home. I can see why she doesn't want to go home as Jess and Chloe set some incredible provisions out such as a farm made of cereal and various painting activities. My daughter is currently in the baby room, her key worker Jess is incredibly tentative to my daughters needs and interests. She writes regular detailed observations of my daughter which I get to see instantly with photos as they come through via an app on my phone. Jess and Chloe give me daily feed back so I know exactly what my daughter has eaten and done. Overall I couldn't be happier with my daughters progress at Ambourne House but more importantly she is incredibly happy here which gives me peace of mind while I'm away working.
