I usually hate being in front of the camera, (ask my wife-all of our holiday photos contain me with a silly face) but Morag helped me to feel relaxed and comfortable, when I need some professional headshots done. She even managed to get some great shots! Not only an excellent photographer but a lovely person too.
We had the privilege of working with Morag MacDonald from Documentary Image at our London wedding in 2019. Because of the distance between her base in Bristol and our home in London, we didn't have the opportunity to meet in person before our wedding day. But truly, that didn't matter. Morag was extremely responsive, friendly and professional by email and phone from day one. She had an amazing go with the flow attitude when we were indecisive, and at every turn was completely up to try anything we suggested. On the wedding day itself, she was just lovely. I truly felt like she was part of our wedding party! She had a fantastic knack of always being around and helpful while at the same time completely blending into the environment. As someone who isn't keen on having her picture taken, I felt very relaxed and happy. She was also incredibly helpful on the day - for example tactfully mentioning to us when she noticed that the ribbons from our bouquets were getting wet in the vases and suggesting that we let them dry before we left the hotel so that they didn't leave a water mark on our dresses in the photos. We were very grateful for her experience. The final photos themselves were stunning and totally captured the spirit of the day, despite being in a location that we suspect was difficult to photograph. We're very pleased with our special wedding album which she helped us to design as well. Overall, we're delighted that we chose to work with Morag and would certainly recommend her to others. Over the last twelve months I have had the pleasure of using Morag’s photography services on three separate occasions. Once for a fantastic outdoor family photo shoot and then two commercial shoots this year. On each occasion Morag has been super-efficient with communication and always arrived on time. During out family photo shoot Morag helped us all to feel at ease, taking some beautiful photos that will be treasured for a lifetime. She even managed to capture some beautiful images of our very independent toddler who often does the exact opposite of everything she is asked to do. During two commercial photo shoots this year Morag produced a fantastic catalogue of digital images of our staff, offices, and brand, which are now being extensive used throughout our website and social media. I recently booked Morag of Documentary Image Ltd to take some headshots for me to use whilst promoting Astute Safety Consulting. Right from the start, Morag was professional yet friendly and able to put me at ease. Morag asked what I would be using the headshots for and suggested bringing different items of clothing in order to have several photographs which were different to look at. Morag took her time to go through the process of how she takes her photographs, which put me at ease and made me feel less self-conscious. As we continued the shoot, Morag kept talking about what she was doing, and more importantly explained why she was doing it. This made me feel comfortable throughout and stopped me feeling nervous. After the shoot, Morag sent me a link to look at the results in my own time and this let me choose the photographs I wanted without any pressure. I was astounded by the quality of the photographs and the number of pictures I had to take my pick from. In the end I had three photographs even I could be happy with.
