Had Dorset Loft Ladders out to my property about 2 years ago. At first the job seemed satisfactory however it was soon apparent that there was an issue with the upstairs landing lights. One of the light switches had suddenly stopped working then one day it worked then another it wouldn't. I emailed and called Steven the owner/installer and told him what was happening as was obvious to me that something had gone amiss as my wife told of how the whole house tripped out while the work was being done. He was adamant that the electrical fault was nothing to with the work he had carried out and didn't come to the house to check up on anything. Now 2 years later and we are moving house and I am up in the loft handing down items for packing and my wife shouted that as I moved about the landing light was flickering on and off. With the assistance of an electrician, the floor was taken up and low and behold Steven at Dorset Loft Ladders had managed to trap a lighting wire in between 2 X joists and then impale it with 2 X wood screws. Not only was that a rookie mistake it could have led to electrocution and or a fire. I have recently made Steven aware of this and after being ignored for a week or so, he finally acknowledge my correspondence after my persistence so I was going to go down the route of small claims court but had second thoughts and felt more motivated to warn others of his half baked attempt of what should have been quality workmanship. Other potential customers be warned. Buy cheap, buy twice. 1/10
