I had a good time looking around the National Telephone Kiosk collection. This is part of the Avoncroft Museum of Buildings. Highlights of the collection include a "tardis" style police box and the traditional red phone boxes. There is a friendly guide that brings the exhibition to life by explaining how an old Telephone switchboard used to work.

Interesting to see all types of phone boxes including an Internet only box. Has a small working phone exchange & in normal times it is possible to go in the phone boxes to make calls to the other boxes. Not sure about interest value for small children but as it is a small part of Avoncroft outdoor museum the whole site has something for everyone.

If you're into history or telephones this place will be like heaven. Seriously, it's part of the Avoncroft museum, which is a great family day out and very different to most places I've been. Definitely check out Avoncroft if you want a quality family day out.
