Visited for first time to swim in outdoor pool as part of relay team in fancy dress. We were bunnies to celebrate leap year or mad March hares. Warm welcome from organisers. Cold water but we are used to swimming all year round in sea. Lovely cakes for sale.

Great pool, temporarily covid closed, but lovely place to swim in the sun under a blue summer sky

It is quite nice and its usually not too busy. The parking is fairly cheap and the staff are very kind. The changing rooms are quite spacious and the pool is big. You get a fairly large basket to put your belongings in and you keep it near the pool. There is a nice selection of drinks and snacks in the mini cafe and outside seating. All in all it's nice.

This is a response to Matthew Noble's review left on 25/8/19 (we don't have a google business account!) Hi Matthew, sorry that you felt this way after your visit. When you spoke to the lifeguard on reception on the phone, she started to explain that we open 9-10:30 for lane swimming but was hung up on before she could say we open 2-6 for general swim. Our opening times are available to see on our website, Google Business page, and Facebook page. The reason two lifeguards were both still there when Matthew turned up at 10:30 was because the lane swimming session had just finished. We have a number of sessions in-between the lane swim and general swim such as Rookie lifeguard club and private pool bookings. As much as our team love the pool and enjoy working here, they have lots to do in between sessions and don't really get to just sit around all day. They either work keeping the pool and water clean, sort out our accounts and administration, conduct repairs and training or go home. Unfortunately, it's not currently possible for us to be open for long. It costs around 50 an hour to run the pool so we have to balance the needs of our swimmers to the costs of staffing longer sessions. Opening 9am-5pm like large commercial leisure centres simply isn't feasible. Given Matthew's frustration at having come a long way to visit us to find that there had been a regrettable miscommunication on the phone, I can understand his poor review, but it's not really very accurate. Apologies again for the long journey.
