Best bar in Buxton, possibly best in Derbyshire. Go there now. Get the train. We had a weekend in Buxton (from Manchester) and went here every night. If you want classics, old or new, they'll happily humour with an espresso martini or negroni. But you would be mad to miss out on their unique, innovative and totally original inventions. We were as excited to read their menu as we would've been to read a Michelin starred restaurant's. Also an excellent beer and wine selection for anyone not bothered about cocktails. Lovely staff - friendly, warm and really passionate about their bar and made us feel like old pals. Their cheese and meat board is top notch - beautiful ingredients picked with care. And considering it's a small and intimate space they are really doing well with Covid measures and it always felt safe. Five stars isn't enough. Go now, enjoy it, and give them five stars too. And remember to tip!

My partner and I came here whilst on a walking trip. The service was incredible. Such lovely and kind staff. And the drinks are absolutely to die for. Honestly, this place is a real gem!

We absolutely loved it here. You can tell the staff are very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about cocktails, nothing was too much trouble! Cocktails, staff and ambiance 10/10!! The only thing thing I will say is that Google, their website and Facebook say different opening times. Also the last update on their website says they are choosing not to open on 4th July. We nearly didn't go due to this which would have been such a shame to have missed out on this place!

Please can you clone this bar and send it to Kent! Visited Monk on a recent trip to Buxton. The bar oozes with atmosphere, the staff are super friendly and they mix a mighty fine martini - THANK YOU.
